2 laptops which one is best, OS X Leopard 32bit 64bit
Ok so i have somewhat of a dilemma here. I have a choice of attempting to install leopard on 2 laptops but not sure which one will work best, if none of them will work, can u please suggest a very cheap laptop i can buy on ebay that works perfectly. I would rather install on my older laptop which is a Toshiba satellite M115, my second one is a Hp DV4-1140go.
Toshiba m115: Running 32bit windows xp with 512mb ram
Chipset: Intel celeron M cpu 420 1.60 GHz
Hard drive: 80gb Fujitsu MHV2060BH PL
Video card: ATI radeon Xpress 200M series
Wireless adapter: Atheros AR5006EG
Audio: realtek audio
DVD drive: TSSTcorp CDRW/DVD TSL
Battery: Microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery
Keyboard: standard 101/102 / Microsoft Natural PS/2
Mouse: synaptics PS/2
BIOS: Phoenic Technology LTD 1.00 8/24/06
Hp DV4: Running 64bit Vista home premium with 4 gb ram
Chipset: Intel(R) ICH9M/M-E Family 4 port
Processors: Intel(R) core 2 duo T5800
Hard drive: 320gb
Video card: intel 4500 MHD
Wireless adapter: Intel Wifi link 5100 AGN
Audio: IDT
BIOS version: HP F.13, 10/1/2008
Webcam
I have done alot of research before posting, but i cant figure out which machine will give me the least problems. It seems like every single spec will give me trouble so i really dont know what to do. Can you recommend a mac os x build to use, the method and so on...I would also like to dual boot this and if that is not possible, then i would rather have it as native on the toshiba. Im sure somethings will not work but i would really like wifi to work if possible, that seems to be rare.
Thank you

I think both of them will work, but you wont get QE/CI for video, maybe next time ;P

Yea im aware of that, but those features do not have much of an impact right? if any? i know my graphic cards arent good...what im concerned most with is the wireless, i really want that to work.
Can you recommend which build to install and which buttons to click on the installation and the packages and such?
If both systems will give me problems and one isnt worse that the other, then i think i will focus on the toshiba m115.
Thanks for replying

Cant tell you want to select, but can tell you what you need, with the toshiba, you will need a patched kernel like voodoo or speedstep, cuz the processor dont support vanilla, and install ps2 or ps2fix to get keyboard and mousepad support, read a bit before install, check some guides, check HCL and good luck

thank you, ive been searching for ever now it seems and i have learned some stuff, but when i tried installing ipc osx86 10.5.6 on the toshiba, i get a gray screen with the apple logo and then eventually a crossed out circle. The dvd doesnt spin during this process either. I managed to boot up the dvd twice before this started occuring. So i know it is capable of booting, what might be the problem?
I was also searching about the hp dv4 and it seems that the intel 4500mhd isnt supported and that it may never be supported. Is this true? I think having video is important.
thanks

After many trial and errors, i have managed to install leopard on both the toshiba and the dv4 using ipc 10.5.6. The main problem i am facing now is getting sleep to work on both systems. I have read and tried a couple of solutions in some threads but non have worked for me. For example, i do not have the tick on the powersaver option, even after changing my applebios kext many times, and installing appleusbehci and ehcienabler does not seem to work either. Is there anything else i can try?
thank you
