    Exclamation 1.5.2 refuses to boot

    Greetings,

I recently installed OSX 10.5.2 on my PC (Core 2 Duo, Radeon HD4870), and the installation worked. I made sure when customising to tick the ATI drivers. My problem is that it will not boot. Without verbose mode it plays some music then the loading animation just stops and pressing keys makes a sort of chime sound. As for verbose mode, I took a picture of where it gets stuck:

    http://i35.tinypic.com/mrpugy.jpg

This is where it gets stuck in safe mode, without safe mode it stops on the mDNSresponder line, 5th from the bottom in that image. I've tried taking out everything but the mouse and keyboard and I've even tried removing my PCI wireless card but none of this had any effect.

However I can boot into single user mode and browse the filesystem, run commands and such, although I have absolutely no clue of what to do there apart from cd and ls.

What can I do? Is there a solution?

    Edit:10.5.2 rather.

Sorry for the bump but I believe I've let this wait long enough. Is there anyone who can help me at all? I'll provide you with any information you need to get the the root of the problem.

I just tried that and it sill stops but in a different place. Here's a rather blurry image (sorry) of where it stops - if you want anything clarified there I'll get there again and write it down. I also tried with IDE configured to AHCI but JMICRON on and it went past a bunch of [JMicron] messages but otherwise stopped in the same place, which as it happens seems to be further behind where it stopped without these changes to the BIOS.

The problem is I did need to do the PPF thing, because without it I got that " com.apple.Boot.plist not found " error when trying to install it. Are you saying I should reinstall a different OSX distro with those settings enabled? If so which?

Could you recommend a distro to me? Sorry to be a bother, I am absolutely clueless when it comes to OSX.
