I downloaded the "Bootloader Downgrade" package in the morning, so I guess these files weren't there yet.
Could you please repost the rest of the tutorial for those of us who don't have them?
Thank you and congrats on the wonderful job!
GeeZuZz, do you think you could post the Bootloader Downgrader package, along with the Virginizer package as a download? and maybe if you could with a pxl file?
The problem is, I have a totatlly bricked iPhone which has a corrupt imei #, no wifi, no bluetooth, messed up iccid, etc..., and I tried everything there is to try to restore it, but it doesn't work. The thing is, this iPhone is a week 44 and has the 3.9 BL so I'd hate to see it go to waste and would like to fix it and get it unlocked.
I have an iPhone of my own which is a week 41 and is jailbroken and unlocked at 1.1.2 and I'm real happy with it, but I'd really like to get this other iPhone fixed up.
As of right now, the only 2 programs that are useful to me are iBrickR and iPhone Browser.
I thought that I'd give it a try and open up this iPhone and do this testpoint donwgrade, and although I'm not really gonna be downgrading the BL, I will be erasing it and writing a new one during the process, so maybe that'll fix up my problems.
But could you please post a direct download to your files, and if you can, package them with a pxl file.
At last this patch comes, after so many basebandless bricks stucked on recovery to 1.1.1 and 1.0.2. Althugh this new package will prevent from creating more bricks. For all those hw unload casualties, there isn't effective way even bring the iphone into ipod touch yet.

I am stuck at 1.1.2 restore("Preparing iPhone for Restore" message), after nor file was written succesfully. Needless to say, I don't have a baseband.
What should I do?
I did two phones successfully with this method, why this one didn't work?
Is there a way of writing those new baseband files to the phone without wi-fi?
I found out that I still have 1.1.1 jailbroken after rebooting with Ibrickr.
So I can still write files to the phone!!!
Is it possible for me to upload the bbupdater files(111.fls and 111.eep) to the phone and run them from therminal to flash the baseband?
If so, where can I find those files?
Thanks again guys!

Thx for the tuts.
i hw unlock 5 iphone yesterday (1.1.2 otb with 4.6 boot)
3 was sucessfull (but very severe casing damage)
1 was no service (i think its due the antenna being broken when opening the black cover.)
1 was problem with touchscreen no functioning at all after opening the casing.
luckily i have a dead iphone so i took the antenna for the no service. and the motherboard for the touchscreen.
anyone know why the touchscreen its not working. its not the lcd or the digitizer but the motherboard (pcb).??
and anyone have some really really good guides to open the case ??
and which tools do work best without leaving a severe mark ??
Hello, I have some problems here.
Did everything and followed every steps. All went fine.
Things I did:
Step 1: Prepair your phone and install software OK
Step 2: Step 2: The hardware part: Disassemble your phone OK
Step 3: Erase baseband OK
Step 4: Write the old bootloader OK
Step 5: bbupdater -f 111.fls -e 111.eep
Error: failed to open or read the FLS file
Any ideas ?
You probably have the same problem I had. I had the old version of "Bootloader Downgrade" files, so these above mentioned weren't in the package yet.

It worked for me in two iPhones but didn't work in another, that's why i'm waiting for someone to post these missing files separately.

thanks GeeZuZz!! i emailed you several times at unlock@unlock. but was not sure if you ever received my messages.
by adding the fls and eep files, one can now avoid having to use itunes to restore. but more importantly, one can avoid the inherent flaws that resulted from the previous Bootloader Downgrade package you had posted in Installer. what was screwing people up, was that the ienew/iunew commands were downgrading the baseband to 03.14.08 whilst in 1.1.1. then, the instructions had the user restore to 1.1.2 via iTunes, which then changed the firmware to 1.1.2, and the baseband to 04.02.13. the instructions then had the user go back down to 1.1.1, but upon doing so, the baseband remained at 04.02.13, even though the firmware was back down to 1.1.1. had the baseband been been at 04.01.13 instead of 03.14.08 prior to the upgrade, then all would have been ok.
the work around was to copy the .fls and .eep files into the usr/bin folder prior to unloading the CommCenter.plist file and running the inew/iunew commands. after which, running bbupdater -f *fls -e *eep would then put the baseband where it needed to be. but because the baseband was at 03.02.13, this then required an update to 1.1.1 via itunes, so that the baseband would update to 04.01.13, at which point you could install anysim, or upgrade to 1.1.2 without any problems.
so everyone that has been having problems with this hardware unlock, namely the software portion of it, you can now SAFELY proceed with the revised instructions at iunlock.no and end up with a h/w unlocked otb 1.1.2 without any of the problems everyone else has had, as you've likely seen/read all over this forum, and other sites.
so, a BIG THANKS to GeeZuZz for correcting the problems and adding the fls and eep files.
ps- i emailed you a few times telling you of the problem, but never received a reply.. perhaps your spam filter moved all my emails to junk.
