    With BL3.9, which you have, you are correct in saying everything is reversible. Any mistakes you make can be undone if you are fortunate enough to have BL3.9.
    but wait, even if you do have BL 4.6 you could still perform the testpoint hardware downgrade....

    Did everything and followed every steps. All went fine. The only problem now is that the fone wont restore to 1.1.2.

    Things I did:
    Step 1: Prepair your phone and install software OK
    Step 2: Step 2: The hardware part: Disassemble your phone OK
    Step 3: Erase baseband OK
    Step 4: Write the old bootloader OK
    Step 5: Completing the downgrade and start unlocking PROBLEM
    - Ive checked if the wifi was working, and it was not;
    - Perform a restore to 1.1.2 and wait for 20 minutes and receive message error 1022;

    Any one has any trick ?

    Hi,

    I did the same thing as Leo. Although my iphone gave an error 1611 and stopped working totally. Now it is looping the boot and once it goes into DFU mode it stops booting, but when I try to restore anything, it boots and keeps doing it. Weird part is also that the phone doesn't stay on at all without the powercord attached. I didn't touch any wiring when I opened it up. Does anyone have any idea what to do with this?

    I have made a mistake. Ive jumped some steps on the
    Step 4: Write the old bootloader

    When i saw the message:
    "TESTPOINT WORKS: 55
    Press any char, then hit enter after testpoint has been disconnected"

    I tought that there was nothing else to do. So I missed the "enter" and continued the process.

    My iphone now is a 1.1.3 itouch

    I have a question, can this hardware downgrade method be used on an OTB 1.1.3 iPhone?

    Hi everyone, i have a major problem with my iphone. After everything completed as the guide describes i have an extremely unstable and weak signal even outdoors. Please any suggestions? I have also restored to 1.1.1 and upgraded again. I am thinking of downgrading to 1.0.2 but I don't think that would change anything. Also I tested a sim from another carrier that uses 1800/1900 GSM and I had 5 bars on the signal (very strange). I have tested the other 2 carriers which operate at 850/900 GSM and I had 1-2 bars. Help If anyone knowns. ty

    Update: 1.1.1 baseband firmware files are now included in the "Bootloader Downgrade" package (thanks drh!), so instead of restoring your phone at the end, you can just write tha baseband manually and unlock with anysim, and you have an unlocked 1.1.1 phone. The tutorial is updated with this info - please give feedback on that last part in this thread!

    While erasing the baseband, i get the message Can't Write.

    I noticed a couple of ppl have the same problems on here, but havent seen a solution.

    Any ideas?

    Why can't we do a testpoint downgrade if we upgraded to 1.1.3 and have a 4.6BB?

    Thanks Sam
