Red face Success for iPhone 1.1.2 OTB Unlock....

Just a quick note: I have unlocked my 1.1.2 OTB iPhone using the hxxp://iphone.unlock.no/bootloader_downgrade.htm tutorial (change xx to tt). The tutorial is flawless.... I started out on an activated and jailbroken ver 1.1.1 iphone (Many tutorials to get you to this point) and proceeded through all the steps. I am now on 1.1.2 unlocked and 100% working. It took me 2.5 hours disassembling the phone, and another good 5 to complete. I took my time so that nothing would get broken. After executing the commands:

    launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist (press enter)

    cd /usr/bin/ (press enter)

    ienew (press enter)

(Each command is supposed to be run seperately!!!)

After which DO NOT RESTART YOUR IPHONE!!! (Which means those of you who restarted your iPhones at this step unfortunately and most likely have very pretty paper weights...)

If you made it to the point where you recieve the message :
" TESTPOINT WORKS: 55 " You have hope.

    At this point try:

" If you currently don't have Wifi, perform a restore to 1.1.2, and then downgrade to 1.1.1 and jailbreak/activate. Note: baseband downgrade is only needed if you want to use 1.1.1, if you want to use 1.1.2, you just install Oktoprep found in Tweaks 1.1.1 category, and then perform a upgrade (NOT restore!) to 1.1.2 again (hold shift/option key to manually select firmware). When upgrade is complete, jailbreak using this java application, and unlock with AnySIM 1.2.1u found in the Utilities category. "

I definitely suggest IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING THEN DO NOT DO THIS METHOD!!!!! For those who are stubborn and are going to attempt anyway MAKE SURE YOU FREAKIN READ THE DAMN TUTORIAL WORD FOR WORD A GOOD 2 TIMES OVER BEFORE YOU EVEN START FOR SHITE SAKES!!

Hope all the best to everyone stuck with a 1.1.2 otb iphone thats only usable as an ipod. ---> The tutorials method is working great ---> but just take your time...

I had 2 Iphones, 1.1.2 OtB 4.6 Bootloader, I used the hardware method on the first one, and it worked!!!, but when I repeated the process on the second one, suddenly, it turned off, (I have just opened the Case), it looks like it was depleted, I donīt know what I did wrong, the battery only reach de 10% of it`s charge, despite the battery icon at the upper right side bar is showing a full battery meter, what Can I do, where can I check for a solution???

You were opening up the phone while it was turned on? Why not open the case and then turn it on? Sorry, but it was pretty stupid. Try posting your question in the hardware section of the forum as you probably fried something.

    Hi GeeZuzz,

Will this testpoint h/w bootloader downgrade work on accidentally upgraded to 113 , 4.03.13_G baseband firmware?

My unit was originally OTB 112 , 4.6, 4.02.13_G and right now it is running on 111 jailbroken with 4.03.13_G BB.

Appreciate any tip/assistance on what to do to unlock it.

    Regards,
    Edgar

Thanks to geohot (and the people he thanks): http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/

Edit: There was a problem with the nor file first released, this is now fixed.

    Edit2:

Please test this for me, and post the result in this thread:
Unlock.no's faster and better way to jailbreak 1.1.1 phones!
Today i studied how jailbreakme.com jailbreaks the phone etc, and i noticed that jailbreakme.com copies a 736KB archive with the needed files, but also LOTS OF CRAP (sourcecode, hidden mac files etc). So i decided to tweak the solution a little.

    • I have removed all the crap jailbreakeme.com serves, so my archive is only 136KB, but still have ALL relevant files. This will make it much faster and more stable, since the file transfer is reduced 600KB.
    • Latest version of Installer (b10) is installed, and also latest version of Community Sources (modmyifone repository)
    • http://i.unlock.no/ is addded as a (trusted) source in Installer.

To jailbreak using this method, instead of adding URL jailbreakme.com, you add url: i.unlock.no (http:// not necessary) to the contact you create after dialing *#307# etc. Have your phone docked to the computer when visiting the jailbreak page.

Note: Jailbreaking using this method will add i.unlock.no as a trusted source. If you don't trust this Installer source, don't do this.

Note2: I did not develope this solution myself. I use jailbreakme.com's solution, and just tweaked it. All credits/donations goes to everyone who worked on this solution: http://jailbreakme.com

No it will not. I have one such phone myself - we have to wait to 1.1.4 secpack is found.

I'm wondering why risk this H/W hack when you can get a *SIM for around $50US?
