Restore iPhone without iTunes
Hi everybody,
I was trying to make a backup via SSH and SFTP app and I accidentaly moved some important files from my iPhone instead of copying them
. Now is my iPhone stucked (there's just Apple logo) and neither my PC nor iTunes can detect it. Is there any way of restoring it without iTunes? Thank you for any advice, it would help me a lot.

You probably screwed it up. If you cant remember what file got misplaced and the proper permissions/owner, you have to use iTunes and restore to firmware 2.2.1. Thios should not be a problem at all, you do have an old iPhone, right?

Lookup DFU mode
A phone in DFU mode will allow full restore in itunes
A phone in DFU will show a usb cable and itunes icon on the screen

DFU mode DOES NOT show a ipod cable + itunes logo.. that is the restore mode... DFU stands for Device Firmware Upgrade... in which the iphone screen appears to be off... Very easy to get in to... Pawnage tool and quickpwn both show you how to do it...
new iPhone yaaaaay

If you have a iPod touch on iOS 5+ that is NOT JAILBROKEN, the closest you can get to a full restore is going on your device to Settings.app>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. That will do just as it says, If you want to sell it I'd suggest getting a hold of a computer with the latest version of iTunes and restoring it that way.

iTunes is pretty much a standard feature. Restoring the phone usually wipes out any previous problems, though. Are you able to get to any other screens in order to perform the restore?
