Default Really Confused on which program to use

I have an i-Phone 2G with version 3.1.2(7D11). It was jailbroken/unlocked with blackrain. So now I want to give the phone to my wife but I want to erase all the info and re unlock/jailbreak and give her a "clean" i-Phone. Does anyone have step by step instuctions on what I need to do. Thanks

PS I am using a PC with WinXP (sorry, no Mac)

2G are permanently unlocked and can be downgraded if something goes wrong.

Default Cydia raised havoc with iphone

I clicked on the cydia icon..it said it was reorganizing everything and the next thing I know, all my Icons are gone except for a few. Any ideas on what happened?

That is a bit odd. Specifically what icons are missing?

Did you "upgrade" or "restore" in iTunes?
