[ziphone] V2.5, what action to take?

my GF, received a new iphone 1.1.3 cracked and ready as a birthdaygift.

Me my dumbass upgraded it to 1.1.4 (not used to apple products..), now her phone seems to be in recovery mode showing an itunes icon and cable.

My question is: how do I get it in a working state?

I guess the new ziphone 2.5 can help me but I ´m not sure wich action to take..

can someone give me some pointers I'd be very grateful!! dont want to worry bout losing my missus..

yes download ziphone 2.5...

choose the do it all option and hit go...

in about 4 minutes the phone will reboot and be working again...

Hi, don't worry about the iTune icon and cable. All new OTB iPhone has that screen. The only thing that you need to do is to download ZiPhone 2.5 and let it do all... However, you need to take into account that if yo do that you are going to downgrade your BL from 4.6 to 3.9 ...

Now you should do an restore to the phone, download the 1.1.3 firmwear from here iPhone1,1_1.1.3_4A93_Restore and download iTunes 7.4.2 here. When start iTunes klick the SHIFT buton in Windows and cklick in the RESTORE buton and locate the downloaded restore 1.1.3 file in your pc, let iTune to do averything. When all finished and the phone show you the usb and conect to iTunes, don't close i Tunes and start Ziphone 2.5. click the first buton DO IT ALL if you want to use with avery cell company you want, if are At&t user click only the JAILBREAK buton and let Ziphone to do everything, for me work fine.

first maybe I should clear: my gf is using macbooc mac os 10.4 11
so all prep.work is gonna be performed in the macbook.

also dont know if that matters but we want the phone to work in sweden..

"The 3.9 bl is easier to hack and therefore that's why there's the option to downgrade it in ZiPhone. However, if you select Do it all in ZiPhone and you have a 4.6bl iPhone like yourself, the bl will be downgraded to 3.9 as ZiPhone 2.5 cannot unlock if the bootloader is on 4.6

Earlier versions of ZiPhone didn't do this but I'm not sure if they will work. You can always give an earlier version a try as nothing will happen to your iPhone that a Restore in iTunes can't fix.

Also it's up to yourself if you want to downgrade the bootloader to 3.9 As of yet there is not process available to update to a 4.6bl if you downgrade so be aware of that. You're not gaining anything by staying on a 4.6bl but you do run the risk of bricking your iPhone if you downgrade it."

If the iPhone is an OTB 1.1.2 or greater then the BL is the newest one (4.6) if the phone is an older version then your BL is 3.9. there are ways to know what version of BL you have. One way is by the serial number, other way is via software.
In your last post you have part of your answer, downgrading the BL os always up to you, as of today, there isn't any advantage of having BL 4.6 but... tomorrow who knows.
There is a way to Unlock your 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 using the 1.1.2 BB... Meanin, that you will have your iphone running all the 1.1.4 software but you'll be running the 1.1.2 baseband... There are few minor issues w/ this solution such as the Maps geolocation, but it has works around.
So, the easies way is to use ZiPhone 2.5 an let it do all (downgrade BL, activate, jailbreak, and unlock). Another way is to use iNdependence it can do the whole thing but it will unlock using the 1.1.2 BB.
To be quite honest both options are quite simple. so basically, at the end it's your call.

dont ever ever try to downgrade your bootloader 4.6 to 3.9... if u do that, there's no way back at the moment...


some iphone got problem with wifi bluetooth n imei....after bootloader3.9

choose the mac version.... click do it all and then start...

in 3 minutes your phone will be working.... next on installer... download appsupport 1.1.4
