    I really hope this doesn't turn in to ' infighting' between geohot and the dev team. I hope the elusive dev team are actually working on a soft unlock, and if they had the secpack a while ago as was implied above, I don't expect it will be long now.

    I would like to see more openness though. I don't want to be heckled about being unappreciative either. Everyone wants the dev team to let them know what's going on through some regularly updated blog or something. Its a reasonable suggestion, and even though they don't have any obligation to do so, it would ease irritation about the community.

    I understand that the hardest part is to remove the covers of iPhone. Is there any special hardware tools for safe doing this ?
    Is there any risk to brick FOREVER the phone ?
    I have some electronics experience, but i want to be sure....

    If you don't damage the iPhone when tampering inside of it, you should be able to recover your phone by upgrading to 1.1.3 if anything breaks.

    That's my understanding of it. I may be wrong.

    I already opened my iphone and soldered the wires with no problem

    I have only one question..

    I need to downgrade to 1.0.2 or 1.1.1

    this guide tells 1.1.1 but i red people here telling otherwise
