Weird Redraw-Problem with 9800GTX+
I need your help with a weird graphic problem which appears randomly and with no comprehensible reason. After booting into Mac OS I sometimes (far to often) get these weird horizontal graphic glitches which I can't really describe:screenshot1, screenshot2, screenshot3. These glitches disappear (redraw correctly) after scrolling out and back.
It doesn't depend on temperature, because the problem comes even right after booting into a "cold" machine.
The problem occured approx. 3 months ago. At that time I used a voodoo kernel 10.5.6. and upgraded 4 weeks ago to vanilla 10.5.7 and I'm now on 10.5.8
I suggested a defective graphic adapter. So I swapped it a few weeks ago from a Gigabyte 9600GT to a EVGA 9800gtx+. But the problem is still there.
Everything else is working perfectly. I use a GFX-String for graphics and I have QE enabled - no further problems.
Here is my system:
OSX 10.5.8 Vanilla with Chameleon-2.0-r431
Gigabyte Board GA-EP45DS3R
Intel Q9550 QuadCore CPU
EVGA 9800GTX+ 512 MB RAM
4 x 2 GB A-Data Ram
1 WD HD
1 Seagate HD
2 LG DVD Player/Recorder
What I've already done (and doesn't helped):
- Changed several Bios values
- Reinstalling OS from scratch
- Tested the Memory with memtest86 (ok!)
- Changed the graphic card
I'm pretty frustrated now. This is the most persistent computer problem I've ever had to cope with.
So is anyone out there with a helpful solution? I would be very grateful.
Thanks for your help
