Default Want to upgrade to Quad Core AMD! Need Help!

Hi i am currently running iPC 10.5.6 Flawlessly on:
    Biostar TA790GX A2+
    4gb 1066 ddr2 ram
AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core 3.1 Ghz
    Sound Blaster Live

    under the installation configuration:
    Seatbelt.kext
    Voodoo 9.5.0 Kernal
IDE JMicron Chipset: Supports 64bit and 4+ gb of ram.

and i am looking to upgrade to a phenom 2 3.0 ghz cpu. My motherboard supports the upgrade but will my OSX installation. Does anyone know if my OSX will still run and what will happen if i do upgrade my CPU?

I read somewhere that i might have to use a non efi bootloader if i have a quad core cpu. Do you know anything about that? I saw you have a quad core cpu anything different you have to do with the installation?

Also how many cores do you run? Right now i run both of my cores in osx86 and it works better than if i run just one core.
