    Default USB and Firewire problems

    Everthing seems to be working fine:

    2.4GHz AMD
    2GB memory

    10.5.2

    but I cant get my USB or Firewire ports to recongise anything that is plugged into them.

    any help!

    also, it recognises my USB mouse and keyboard, but nothing else.

    BUT, they are showing up in my system profiler.

    hmm dunno what you did, whats your specs? try typing in darwin

    -v -f

    its a black screen saying to press enter to start, but nothing happens.

    that link I put in changed something in the extensions, so I think it may be that.

    I may have to start again....

    Right, got everything running again, but still no USB or firewire. CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANYTHING?!?!
    Proccessor: AMD Athlon 64 3400+
    Memory: 2048MB (400Mhz)
    motherboard: gigabyte GA K8VM
    graphics card: NVIDIA 256MB
    hard drive: 120 Maxtor 6Y120L0
