Finally managed to make OSX boot, (i had the waiting for boot problem). It recognised and installed a sound card, however the card doesnt seem to work.

The card is a Sigmatel 9227, the pc is a Dell dimension 9200 quad.

It picks up the card as a "HD Audio Output", which agrees with the dell description of Sigmatel C-Major HD Audio.

No sound comes out, i have tried plugging in speakers to all the different ports in the computer with no luck.

Is there some kind of special configuration i'm missing?



I tried installing a load of other sound drivers with AppleHDA patcher, but they just made the output device disappear from the audio settings panel.

The only way I could make it come back was to reinstall Mac OSX again. Which I have done.

Managed to get it working, had another attempt with the HDA patcher.
