    Default Shopping help!

I need some help building a PC (first timer), and "might" have up to 900$.
Ok, here is the story: I live in argentina. Problem with that is that A SHITTY PC COSTS 1,000U$D (I'm talking pentiums here). So... I got to visit the US about a month ago and got a hand me down P4 Gateway and installed iAtkos on it. My family are all mac users, so I needed a mac. I have to say, I used to not pay much attention to hackintosh but now I LOVE IT. Anyways, the Gateway came back with me, and I plan to sell it for about 800$, since I added a floppy, a CD-ROM, a HDD and obviously mac) I can also sell some of my other stuff so I can get to about 900$, but prefer not to.
So for the actual building... I want something FULLY mac compatible, meaning, I don't want to pay for any hardware features that won't be compatible. I already have a HDD (got it out of a Maxtor One Touch, its a SATA II), keyboard, speakers, screen (but a bad one, I could use a new one, over 1400x900 and 20" or more) so I "only" need the rest. Also: no need for floppies or Blue-Rays. It would be cool to have a "fast" (7200 or 1000 RPM) HDD for the OS itself & apps, this one could be small (-100 GB). As far as GPU's go, some decently powered one (+512MB and good speeds). No need for SLI, since as far as I know mac doesn't support it (maybe hackintosh does?). But I'm at doubt with Crossfire (on mac). I do prefer Nvidia cards, but I'm no fan to death). Processor: Intel's are more compatible and (apparently) more powerful than AMD's, but the latter are better bang for the buck (I think), so I obviously prefer a slightly less beefy AMD over a Intel if it means +100$ or something. I want to have as much ram as possible, within the budget. I don't care too much about the MB or the case, as far as I have 6 USB's, 2 Ethernets, 1 firewire (if possible, I'm not spending over 20 on this), good audio (don't need "the best" but don't want a crap pile that makes al kinds of noise ether).
So what I'm proposing is: within these thing (or without if you think you know a better option) giving you guys "rienda suelta" (spanish for "no restrictions") to build the biggest, meanest system you can.
Uses I give a computer: schoolwork, occasional games, LOTS of audio/video and transcoding, software and OS testing, some coding (especially web) and audio/video design (its incredible how much people are impressed (and are willing to pay) for some simple photo/video/dvd creation).
Also: I wanted to mention I don't care at all for looks.
Thanks in advance for your help!

P.S: I know it's boring but some help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you think this is a good buy? Is it compatible with hackintosh?
