Default SATA Controller in Compatibility mode?

    Hi All,
Im new to Hackint0sh and this forum and everything and im only 16 so im sorry if all this is n00b but yeah....

Anyway, this is my problem. I recently had an interest in making apps for ipod touches. Unfortunately you need a mac which i dnt have. I only have a Windows and Linux based OS. So i researched a bit knowing that my hard drive and cpu on my PC(SATA and AMD respectively) are not genericaly supported by Mac OS. So i kept looking and came up with the following download: Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1].iso so i downloaded it burnt it and all worked well. I cleared a part of my hard drive and converted 1 partition to FAT32 with all my songs on it. I restarted my computer and booted from the CD to find that the disk utility can not see my HDD. Now i knew the problem, I have a SATA HDD and not an IDE so i went into my BIOS to find it is "dumbed down" (btw its a new laptop - HP Pavilon dv6700 series). There is no option to put my SATA controller in compatibilty mode. To make sure i was correct on this i tried to boot the dvd in a virtual machine. I went through all the steps making the virtual HDD IDE. Booted from the CD in the Box and Bam my Virtual HDD was there.

So Overall, Does anyone know if there is a SATA driver for MAC OS X. Or there is some way i can put my Controller in Compatibility mode. And Yes i am doing the right thing... The BIOS is "dumbed down" in these laptops for some reason. I have researched it, so please no replys telling me to press F10 at boot, go into advanced and so forth...

I Realy appreciate any help anyone could give me.
    Thanks
    Ben
