I currently have a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 rig up and running with the latest Snow Leopard with no problem.

I'm wanting to upgrade to a SATA 3 SSD and get the 500MB/s read/write that they offer.

Unfortunately, the EX58-UD5 only has SATA 2 ports on it, so I'd be stuck getting an external SATA 3 controller.

Does anyone have any experience with getting a SATA 3 add-on board running as a boot device and having OSX installed on it and bootable from it?

If so, which board did you use?

thanks!
