Default Sapphire X1600 Pro 512MB PCIe

I ran the 10.4.6 install from a working 10.4.3 installation. When I edit the ATIRadeonX1000.kext's Info.plist to include 0x71c21002 under the PCI indentifiers, it boots, but all I can see is the cursor, everything else is black . Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Im not a pro at this one, but Im pretty sure you have to hex edit part of the kext to add the device id right into the actual binary.

there is a detailed thread about this at www.osx86project.org

Well, I wiped my 10.4.6 install because I was also having issues with being able to install software, such as Firefox. Kept saying that there was an error mounting the image, the device was not configured...

So now I have 10.4.5 installed, and with a quick edit of the ATIRadeonX1000's info.plist, I have QE & CI showing as supported .

Now the issue is this: It is a 512MB card, and it is only showing 256MB in System Profiler . I noted that elsewhere it is said that my DVI port has a sep. device ID, which I am sure it does. Does this mean that the other 256MB is being dedicated to that output? Is there any way to get it to read all 512MB???

I have the exact same card, also haven't been able to get QE/CI to work in 10.4.6, and also notice that it's divided into two separate devices (second device id is 0x71e21002). As far as I know there is no way to get a single 512MB device. On a separate note, has anyone been able to get Omni's Callisto driver working with this card? I can get it to show me resolutions, but actually switching causes a screen of odd lines and no functionality whatsoever.
