Default Radeon X800XT AGP with OS X86

I have the ATI Radeon X800XT Platinum agp card with 256mb ram and I have it working for the most part. I used Callisto 008 (have not tried the other versions yet) and AGPGART 2.4.6 in OS X Leo4All 10.5.2 v2 with the 9.2.0 kernel. I got it to show up correctly (except the memory size shows wrong) and CI works with software support, but I am still working on QE. I have heard of people getting the 9600 to work, but I have read the support for that is spotty. Some have used the Koverg patch and it works and others say it killed it. There is a ton of trial and error that goes along with getting it working.

I have also heard of some success with natit as well but only with PCI-E and more with NVidia than ATI.

Let me know if I can help you any more. Give me more details and I will do my best.

    Cheers

Im finding it hard to find support regarding my ATI 9600.
Ive tried all the drivers listed above: Callisto, 003 & 008 but they had no effect. Ive also tried the agp.kext edit but am still not able to change the resolution of my card.

Actually the card isn't even recognized in Leopard...

When I click on the system profiler and expand to the "graphics/displays" section this is what I see...

    Display:

    Type: Display
    Bus: PCI
    VRAM (Total): 256 MB
    Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
    Device ID: 0x4150
    Revision ID: 0x0000
    Displays:
    Display:
    Resolution: 1024 x 768
    Depth: 32-bit Color
    Core Image: Software
    Main Display: Yes
    Mirror: Off
    Online: Yes
    Quartz Extreme: Not Supported

Can anyone shed some light on the subject? Im really struggling and would appreciate any guidance.

    Regards
    :iphone:Nephew.

p.s Sorry if this seems like I'm digging up an old thread - I'm a new poster so cant make a new topic!

    Exclamation

I am running the iDeneb V1.3 10.5.5 with no AgpGart support. I am running the Kernel 9.4.0StageXNU with VIA-SB enabled, and it seems to be running the Vesa with the Callisto.kext installed with resolution at 1440x900@75. My main board is a MSI K8M Neo V, I too am looking for anyone who has successfully enabled support for QE/CI working for the Ati 9600 SE.

Dear Cyntek I also have K8M Neo V with Geforce FX 5200, 1GB ram and AMD64 2800+. I am unable to boot after installing the iDeneb v1.3. If you had any success please tell me what configuration you selected during installation.

To get leopard to boot successfully, I disabled the AGPGart support, however, since you are running a different Card then I, A Geforce FX 5200 which is an nvidia chipset, so you might wanna checkout the support for nvidia graphics using the ideneb release.

bump. id like the radeon 9600 (4e50) to work with QE and CI as well.

question: if under CI says "Software", does that mean it works?
