I want to test the compatibility of my hardware but what are the risks ?

I'm french and I don't speak English very well. In advance, sorry for my English.

I want to test my hardware :
Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo E7400
Motherboard : Asus P5P43TD
Chipset : Intel P45/P43
Graphic card : ATI ASUS EAH4650 series
Network card : Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 PCI-E Ethernet Controller

I want to test an install of hackintosh on this config.

Currently, I have a dual boot install. With :
1 - Windows Xp pro
2 - Windows Xp pro (just for the sims of my wife) :)

If the hackintosh doesn't work, I could go back to this dual boot ?

Because I want to test if my hardware is compatible but I don't want to lose my dual boot.

What are the risks ?
