Let me know how stable your system is and what motherboard you finally used.
I'm building a hackintosh with the following components:
MB: Gigabyte Micro ATX Motherboard GA-G31M-ES2L
HD: WD Caviar Blue 500GB SATA II WD5000AAKS
RAM: Kingston 4GB
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz
Video: XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 1 GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card HD577XZNFC
DVD: Pioneer DVR-116D
What kind of PSU you guys suggest for this setup?
Here is the link to NVEnabler latest version that you could try with your video card.
First, Don't forget to delete all old kexts that you've installed for it, that are not working before installing the new one.
Use Kext Utility to install.
See how it goes for you.
i finally got rid of 5770
now i have money to buy everything new
i want to know the list of hardware that will be compatible with hackintosh
i want to install lepord with to much teche stuff because i don't know a lot
so the hardware combo that is going to be easiest to be able to install lepord o
if you can please try for a microatx motherboard because i am trying to make it portable if you cant find a micro atx then thats fine
ALSO try to use a core 2 duo or quad processor if you cant then thats fine
if you can try to use a ati graphics card but if you cant then thats fine
also a good wireless n card
like i said before i want to be able to install it without mesing around too much and please give me a link to a guide
can you use a second hdd to install lepord on it on the same pc with win7
You're already at the sticky for hardware. So just need to review it for yourself.
For guides, read tuts sections.
Is it possible that there may soon be a recommendation for a new super cheap combo? The one listed is now a little dated (it's not too easy to get those components anymore).
I browsed the list and the result, my experiment:
Mobo: Intel s1156 Gigabyte GA-P55M- UD4 (mATX)
CPU: Intel Core i7-870 2.93GHz BOX
RAM: G.Skill DDR-3 2x4Gb /1600 KIT F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
PSU: Gigabyte 800W Odin Pro
Chassis: Cooler Master Elite RC-333-KKN1-GP
VGA: What offers and why? (ATi 5770 or Nvidia GTX2xx)
I would like to use it in 64-bit mode the 10.6.3 or 10.6.4
What you believe?
I've been looking over the different combos and this forum is a great tool for beginners.
However, I wanna dive into getting a hackintosh but I lean toward getting a laptop as I want to produce music with logic.
What would be the best laptop to make an easy hackintosh as I'm new to this ? I'm already equipped with a usb sound card. I don't care about the graphics and my budget is about 700 $.
Can somebody give me some value able opinion on my first Hackintash build list please?
I'm expecting this machine able to run the latest Final Cut studio 3, AVID, Maya, After Effect and Logic Studio at a good speed when it down to rendering and exporting, so my build list will be:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 X58 Socket 1366 8 Channel Audio ATX
Processor: Intel core i7 950 3.06GHz Socket 1366 8MB cache
Graphics Card: Sapphire HD 5870 VAPOR-X 1GB GDDR 5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E
Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro 7.1 - PCI-Express
Memories: OCZ 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1866MHz Platinum Triple Channel memory Kit for i7 Motherboards CL9 1.65V
Hard Drive: Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black 3.5'' SATA6GB/S 7200rpm 64MB
Optical Drive: Pioneer 12x BD Writer
As I'm a new to hackintash, it will be fantastic you can give me some guide before I spend all my money on it.
If you can think a cheaper build and will meet my expectation, please do reply me as it's a bit of pricey at the moment with what I have on the list.
Thank you very much.
Thanks for this awesome thread, it offers a solid starting point for noobs like us!
Having read the forums for four hours now, I figured I am entitled to my first questions.
The setup I'm currently considering is an edition of the last setup in the first post:
Mobo: Gigabyte P55M-UD2
CPU: Intel i5-661
RAM: Corsair 4x2GB DDR3 1600 Ghz
HD: 60GB Phoenix Pro SSD
GPU: Gigabyte HD5770 Silent
PSU: Silverstone Nightjar 450 W
Other stuff: Magic mouse, Apple keyboard, some blue tooth bundle, external DVD, external soundcard (A/D to optic output)
From what I've read, I understood that only the mobo and the graphic cards are giving people trouble. That's why I am conserned about the graphic card I've chosen, as I haven't found any reports of that exact card on a Hackintosh. I chose this exotic card because I am building a very silent setup, and I want a (fast) card without a fan.
Has anyone head any reports on Gigabyte HD 5770 1Gt Silent (GV-R577SL-1GD) on Hackintosh before? If not, I would appreciate if some expert would give me his best guess on the matter. Or can anyone suggest a similar passively cooled graphics card for my setup?
If someone finds another problem in my setup, it will be very much appreciated!
Thanks a million for your support. I couldn't build a Hackintosh without you guys!
