Advice on New Q9650 / ASUS P5E Deluxe Hackintosh Build
Hi guys...
I'm currently running the following specs as a MS PC and would like your opinion on wether or not I can rebuild and use as a Hackintosh machine (I'm aiming to build a Snow Leopard machine) and if so please give me links to advice:
CPU = Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9650 (3.0 GHz / 12MB L2 Cache)
Mobo = ASUS P5E Deluxe (Socket 775 / DDR2 / X48)
RAM = 8GB (4 x 2GB sticks) Corsair DDR2 1066MHz Dominator Memory (2 x TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF kits)
CPU = Antec 850 Watt TruePower Quattro power supply
Hard Drive 1 = Western Digital VelociRaptor 150GB Hard Drive (WD1500HLFS)
Hard Drive 2 = Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB Hard Drive (ST31000528AS)
Optical Drive 1 = Sony Optiarc DVD +/- RW Optical Drive (AD-7200S-0B)
Optical Drive 2 = Sony Optiarc DVD +/- RW Optical Drive (AD-7200S-0B)
Graphics Card 1 = Sapphire HD 4890 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E
Graphics Card 2 = Sapphire HD 4890 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E
Case = CoolerMaster HAF 932
I've been scouring the net for days but the only advice I can see which includes my current processor is the tutorial "Install Snow Leopard on Your Hackintosh PC, No Hacking Required - Hackintosh - Lifehacker".
I'm willing to change the motherboard if I have to (probably change to Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P as it seems to be the most compatible with Mac OS X).
I'm also willing to change the graphics if needed - Please offer some advice on best graphics to go for if this is the case?
And I'm most certainly changing the case - I'm planning on moving the build into an Antec Sonata III PC system case which I plan on getting resprayed to a clean white (Sticking with the :pie: colour scheme :)).
I can't wait to hear your opinion and advice... Thanks in advance!
