Potential i7 Hackintosh config
Hi
After doing my research (Hackintosh.org, osx86project.org, insanelymac.com, buildahackintosh.com) I've come up with my shortlist for my own hackintosh. But before ordering all the parts I thought I'd post on a forum and get feedback, and where better than here!? ..so here is it;
- Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (likely to be overclocked)
- Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
- Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel
- XFX GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition 896MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card
- Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 CPU Cooler
- Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM
- LG GH22NS40 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black)
- Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply
My main areas of concern are for the GTX 260 and the LG DVDRW (-;
EDIT: I need dual monitors to work (2x 1920x1200 over 2xDVI) (hence concern for GTX 260)
EDIT: I'm looking to run 10.6.2
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Thanks in advance!
Toby

Will hardware RAID work?
I'm planning on getting a similar setup, except maybe a different Video card (GTS 250). I was wondering if there are any guides on setting up a hardware RAID controller/card with this mobo? and on any os version. Or is it even possible?
I'd like to try doing a RAID 0 setup with a SSD and a HDD, if at all possible?
