Default New Build Help (ASUS Maximum II Formula)

    All,

I am currently looking to purchase an ASUS Maximus II Formula motherboard (http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1...mp;modelmenu=1). I would like to run both Vista 64 bit and Mac OS X on the computer if possible. I was wondering if anyone has successfully installed Mac OS X on this motherboard. If it can not be successfully installed, then I may have look at the ASUS Rampage Formula motherboard (http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1...mp;modelmenu=1), but there are some features on the Maximus II Formula board that I prefer. Other system specs will be as follows:

    Thermaltake Xaser VI Case
Thermaltake Toughpower 850W Modular Power Supply
    Q6600 CPU
    Zalman 9700 Cooler
    2x2GB Corsair 8500 DDR2 w/ Cooling Fan
    BFG 8800 GTX Video Card
    6 x 500 GB Seagate SATA Drives

If anyone can let me know if they have had success or problems with the Maximus motherboard, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

You can do it man, it works like a charm with ideneb 10.5.5, i am using one of them in my house. But couldn't install ideneb 10.5.6 or ipc 10.5.6, but i am still trying.

googled it, this is like one of the ONLY actual results i got

checked the HCL from 10.5.6 through 10.5.0 and none say anything about Maximus II Formula.

I have tried 4 different iso images including iDeneb 10.5.5, Kalyway 10.5.5 XXX 10.5.6 and iATKOS v1.0i.. all have either restarted while trying to boot from dvd or have not been able to boot the operating system after install i have also tried the cpu=1 fix and many others still with no success.. so if there is someone out there that does know how to get it working on this motherboard could u tell me the settings u used on the motherboard and the config during setup.

no this is Intel® P45/ICH10R, yes i did try with cpus=1 -v and after installing with iDeneb it stops booting almost striaght away. i dont remember the exact line.
