    I see, what kernel did you install? did you have Execute Disabled bit enabled in the BIOS? also called XD bit

    god its like 2:32am here why am i still awake!!

    ummm kernel.. 9.4.0 StageXNU ( Intel/AMD, SSE2/SSE3 )
    though i have an E8500 so that should work on the generic kernel yes?

    ED = Enabled.

    Yeh you should try with Vanilla, or if you wanna try with patched kernel, at least voodoo kernel, we dont know if your system is supporting all the cores so always try to boot with cpus=1 -v

    to try the vanilla kernel do i just select none..

    You dont need to select any kernel, vanilla will install by default

    with vanilla kernel i get "Package 0 didn't get an HPET" 15 times followed by a panic.

    EDIT: i removed AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext with no luck. now it just hangs where it previously said Package 0.....

    I think you have to MOD this mobo or try Retail with DSDT patch, try asking to macnut (in the sticky), or try asking on IRC, irc.osx86.hu #retail good luck

    If I recall, I've done this bios, but I think it was for 10.5.5, which the cpupowermanagement.kext will need to be deleted.

    thanks guys i jsut flashed my bios and it booted straight away.. now all i needa do is get wifi and sound and im all good.
