    Default Need help!!! Choosing motherboard for i5 750.

    Hi,

    I am going to build a i5 750 hackintosh with a budget motherboard with USB 3.0. I want to get 1 of 2 Gigabyte new models. I was looking at many threads but I rarely found information about these models.

    1) GA-P55-USB3L which is still "coming soon" on the Gigabyte website yet but it was started to be sold in my country 2-3 days ago. I believe that this model is similar to GA-P55-USB3 (which is not sold in my country) but it may have fewer ports and slots.

    2) GA-H55M-USB3 which does not support raid, SLI and crossfire (but I don't need any of these features anyways). However, it is about $15 cheaper than GA-P55-USB3L and provides both esata and firewire ports (GA-P55-USB3L does not provide any of them).

    Actually, I want to get GA-H55M-USB3 but the problem is that I think H55 is not currently supported by Apple and I haven't seen many people successfully built a hackintosh snow leopard on H55.

    Can anyone tell me if any of these models will work for a hackintosh? Which model will be the better one if both of them work?

    Thank you.

    Intel's 5 Series chipset is supported in the coming 10.6.3 (but not USB 3.0 and SATA 6G). Take a look at OSx86: ???????????? @ MacNuts?PIXNET :: ??? PIXNET ::
