Need an awesome server load out. Please help all you OSX86 Gurus
Hey guys,
Kinda new to this so forgive me for any forum rules im probably forgetting but im interested in building my self a screamingly fast server with Lion when it comes out (snow leopard is fine for now) but I need some help on the hardware.
I know im going to use a(n)
I7 processor
a video card that can do HDMI out (and or mini display, (gimme some real good options)
maybe 6 or 8 Gigs of ram
a bluetooth capable chip as well. i have the trackpad and wireless keyboard to use.
hopefully a firewire 800 port
might even invest in a mac pro tower (no internals) just for the housing off ebay (any comments, are there any specific dimesnisons i have to worry about when it comes to installing the actual motherboard, if so i can just use a normal tower instead)
my fathers an IT administrator so shouldn't be a problem getting all this to work, so far he has suggested to me this.
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Motherboard - Socket 1366, ATX, Audio, PCI Express 2.0, USB 3.0, RAID, SLI, CrossFire at TigerDirect.com
i know i have to pay attention to the gbits/per second in relation to the i7 chip and the bus speed of the motherboard. but i guess thats why im posting this up here
i just want to be able to purchase all necessary equipment knowing it should all work together, no hang ups and end up with a disgustingly fast desktop
Im currently running on a Macbook Pro 2010 model with 4 gs Ram and Core 2 Duo, just isnt cutting it anymore for video conversion and such.
so all thee hackintosh gurus out there please lend a hand. im not gonna worry about costs so throw me a real good spec up of a system.
thanks gurus
