Default My N310 has a 3G card: can OS X use it?

I was surprised to find out that my Samsung N310 has a 3G card, the GlobeTrotter MO40x. I'm not really educated on the subject, but I found some sites selling unlock software (its targeted for a specific carrier) and I've seen GPS functions mentioned. Does anyone know if it can it be used by OS X? Thanks.

OK. Can anyone answer this then: since I don't plan on using 3G services, is this card sucking power out of the system and should I just remove it?
