Is my laptop compatible
Hello I'm totally new to Mac OSX but have a few year with linux and I was wondering before I start reading tutorial if my hardware will work. Notebook Spec :
Clevo M860TU (Eurocom) | P8400 | 2GB DDR3 | 9800M GT 512MB | 15" WSXGA+ | 320go@5400rpm | intel 5300 agn (I don't care about the wireless) | chipest ich9m
Just a yes/no and the name of the release I should use will be enough I'll do the reading/searching myself
Thanks

Try with iPC or ideneb, they both should work in your system without problems, report back your progress ;D

Thanks I tried iDeneb it installed in 15 min but now I'm stuck in 1024x768 and with some serious video glitch. Every time I scroll or move something it become sort of transparent.
So before I go further could somebody help me with the geeky word because I'm a bit lost. What is QI/CE (or something like that),EFI string, nvinject, nvkush,nvdarwin, nvanything
-
Awesome
Well that was much too simple. I reinstalled and this time I saw the personalize button so I selected chameleon and nvdarwin 512mb and guess what I'm now in 1680x1050 with QE enabled on internal display then I though let's try external screen, guess what I plugged it and it worked instantly. Awesome.
Now all I have to do is find the "start button"
but seriously where are all the application shortcut stored and I have no idea how to make my sound card work

lol I was semi-kidding about the start button, I feel a bit lost without it
I'm almost certain my audio chipset is realtek alc262 but I don't know how to verify it. I reinstalled with the alc262 driver selected but still no sound.
Also while almost everything work can you recommend a software to make an image of my partition
Last one how is it possible that every time I try to start my PC with DVI plugged it crash and then the boot is broke (only solution I have found is to reinstall
)
[EDIT] actually it is a alc662 which hopefully explain why I have no sound.
