    Default Is My Hardware Compatible

    Hi,

    Firstly I would like to apologize if there is a thread someplace that i just didn't find.

    The following is my hardware and I would like to find out if it's compatible with installing hackint0sh on it.

    • MSI M/B P31 Neo-F V2 Core 2 Extreme/Intel P31/FSB 1333/DDR2-800/A&GbE/MATX
    • MSI nVidia N9400GT-MD1G 1G GDDR2 DVI/HDTV PCI Express Video Card
    • Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz 1333MHz 4MB LGA775 CPU
    • 500GB 7200RPM 16MB SATA Wester Digital 3.5" HD
    • LG Electronics 20X IDE GSA-H55N DVD+/-RW
    • 4GB DDR2 800 PC6400 CL5 Super Talent

    Hiya there it will work, but you have to MOD your BIOS to get it working, if you dont wanna MOD your BIOS then have to try Retail with DSDT Patch

    Thanks for your prompt reply. I did see it when you posted it, but I didn't have any time to test.

    Now that I have I have a question...

    I've tried the second method (DSDT Patch) first and it hangs at the Apple logo.

    So I went along to (MOD your BIOS) after downloading what was needed the flash bios application said that the rom was the incorrect file size.

    Now in your experiense which one is the esiest to solve. (Keep in mind I don't have a windows system at home, I use Mac OS X and Linux).

    How did you try to MOD your BIOS, well MOD your BIOS is easy, lol but maybe thats not your BIOS, check here, I found yours like in the bottom, about DSDT is easy but you have to read alot.

    I found my bios firmware and downloaded the file but the utility it said that it's the wrong filesize.

    I did read a lot about the DSDT but it keept freazing on the apple logo.

    So you have your dsdt pach now and your trying retail and still nothing? About the BIOS mod, maybe thats not urs, you can ask for yours here, good luck

    Yeah it starts mac os x installation and gets stuck on the apple logo.

    did you add the necessary kext for your system in your 132 bootloader?

    Nope i haven't. I've read about them but i haven't found anything on how to do add them or which ones I add.

    Keep in mind i don't use windows and don't have access to a windows machine.

    Check this thread, maybe his iso works in your system, if you have time read all the post there too and good luck, for the kext you have to really know your hardware and google for every single kext you need...

    try his iso tho, just to test
