    Default Mouse Stuttering

    Hi,

I just installed Kalyway Leopard on my Dell D620 and the mouse is stuttering really badly. The mouse will pause for long periods at a time and I can't move it around which obviously makes it almost impossible to use the Mac!!

    Any help?

I had same problem on my Latitude D820.
    Problem is dual core.
    Follow this steps
Open terminal logon as root user
    cd /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
in this folder edit " com.apple.Boot.plist " with vi editor.
    vi com.Boot.plist then enter
type "i" now vi is in edit mode then find the "cpus=2" string then only change 2 to 1 then press ESC
    then shift Z Z ( Z is two times )
then issue "reboot " command your system will reboot with 1 core and your mouse issue wont be exist anymore.
I am trying to figure out to solve this strange mouse behaviour w/o disabling one core.
    hope this fix your problems

While that is a solution that works, you loose one core of processing power. You can try and fix your graphics drivers, which is the root of the problem. I had the same problem on my laptop, and installing a different graphics driver solved my problem. I would guess you've got maybe an intel integrated graphics card, which would give this problem. Anyways, if you let me know what card you've got, maybe I can help you find the correct drivers.

Also, check out insanelymac.com, there are many people over there who have experienced this problem, and therefore lots of help available.

I have an Nvidia Quattro 110M card in the laptop. Going down to 1 core made the problem go away, but I'd like to be able to use both!

If you could recommend a video driver it would be much appreciated!
