hey, im thinking in buying this machine:

Mother INTEL DX58SO SOCKET1366
INTEL CORE I7 920 S. 1366 - Box
3 gb 1333 mhz corsair
HD 500 Gb - 7200 Rpm - SATA 2 - 16MB - HDP725050GLA360
VGA GeForce XFX 9800GTX 512MB PCI-e PV-T98W-YDFU

does anybody knows if this is going to work with hackintosh? i couldnt find anywere information about this mother with the os

I'm currently looking to make a hack out of this same combo. Intel's Retail Edge bundle was this mobo and i7 920. I'll eBay the Vista Ultimate but would like to dual boot the Win7.

After having it so easy making my Dell Mini 9 a hackintosh I think I'm spoiled. Anyway, I'm looking to put together the most stable workhorse I can using this CPU/Motherboard combo. What is the best graphics card and audio board to use with this combo that works with little or no modification. Any HDD/SSD would work so I'm not worried about those. I also can't see an optical drive being problematic, though I'll take any tips on which one I should use if there is a "better" one for hacks.

Once I get the parts in from Intel I plan to build the system out. Not sure when that's going to be at this point since I got an email from them saying there's a delay in shipping and supplies.

I did go through the HCL, but would love to get more specific pointers. Thanks for any tips!

You can get better support with asus p6, gigabyte or msi, if you wanna try with intel, go ahead, you will need to install retail to get all the cores working, yes it will support win7, theres already sytem dualbooting OSX/Win7 RC1

Great. Thanks for the insight. For now I'm kinda stuck with the Intel board since it was part of the deal ($289 for CPU, Motherboard and Win Vista/7 Ultimate). I don't mind working at it a little if it'll work, just want to know if it's possible and if it'll be stable.
