    Hey guys!

i hav this old forgotten desktop PC hanging around running old XP, then i thought, what if...

yeah, so, do you guys think it's possible 2 run this old fella in a Mac OSX86 environment?...and i mean, absolutely any, i'm not picky about Mac OS X distro's, leopard, tiger, any1 of them is just fine by me, what i'm looking 4 is the 1 that works best!

Just in case you guys thinks it's actually possible 2 do this and with acceptable usability, then what distro/drivers/changes do you reckon i'd have 2 do 2 get it workin properly?

    Appreciate your help!
    And thanks in advance!

    So here r the specs:

    Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz
    Intel i865P/PE/G/i848P rev. A2 + Intel 82801EB (ICH5) rev. 02 (Model: Micro-Star 6788)
    512 DDR Memory
ATi Radeon 9600 PRO Family (256MB)
    HD Samsung SP0802N 80GB
    SONY DVD RW DRU-700A

    Cheers!

The version I used is iDeneb v1 since is the only one that seemed working, i also tried the 1.4 but failed and the iAtkos v7 but failed, haven't tried the new iDeneb v.1.5 or 1.6. because if i can find the drivers there i would download it.

I tried the multiple versions of the iAtkos dvd in 3 other machines, and no good. iDeneb went well. Only sound and wifi isn't working. I am replacing the wifi card with something other than the intel 3945 (maybe a dell 1490). The only issue is sound. Any ideas?

Try original retail DVD with boot 132 Cd.However iDeneb 1.4 with 9.5 voodoo kernel installation is recommended. The DVD drive wont read any CD's Or DVD's after completing installation. So better use an externel USB dvd drive.

    Chip: Intel Core i7-920
    RAM: 6GB DDR3 Kingston 1600 (3 x 2GB)
Video: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB Standard Reference

Hi, im buying the parts for a i7 machine which is going to be used for music production, was wondering if these parts will work and how i go about install osx, sorry im completely new to this but would appreciate any help.

    CPU:

Intel Nehalem i7 920 S1366 2.66GHz (Will be over clocked to 4gig when I get water cooling, would osx still work over clocked? sorry if its a stupid question, a friend is going to be over clocking it and helping me build it, I don't know that much about it)

    Motherboard:

    Either ASUS P6T SE - motherboard - ATX - iX58 or Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R

    Memory:

    Kingston KHX14400D3T1K3 / 3GX HyperX T1 / 3GB / 1800MHz DDR3 DIMM / Triple Channel Kit

    HDD:

500GB Maxtor DiamondMax 23 SATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive

    GFX:

    Gainward GeForce GTX 260 GS

    DVD Burner:

    Optiarc (Sony/NEC) 20X DVD+/-RW IDE BLACK

    PSU: 700W

MAUDIO Fast Track Pro Sound card I already have, I assume it should just work with the drivers on there site.

Will this work? would I be able to get Snow Leopard work on it? Thanks again.

This will be Dual Booted with Windows 7

I've got a very similar system, using the GA-EX58-UD3R and the vapor x 4890 instead.

Ive got OS X installed using the lifehacker guide but i haven't got sound or the graphics sorted yet, Ive been searching for a nice guide to get the 4890 recognized and working but there's so many different things flying around im getting confused.

I don't want to have to flash the 4890 either. Can someone tell us simply how to get them working please? Be as patronising as you like

Edit* Does anyone know if an update to os x will add support for the 4890, I don't mind waiting if thats the case...
