I'm looking to build a new Core i7 system (hopefully this week) and want to get OSX on there for Logic Studio.

I'm looking to get this Intel DX58SO motherboard if I know I can get it working properly. The EFIX testers seem to be using it with great success in their beta testing, so I figure worst case I can get one down the track if I can't get it working with a free option first.

Can anyone provide me with a simple collection of the kexts I will need for this board, especially getting the sound working?

I did do a search but many of the threads on this board had been abandoned after a while with little comprehensive info.

hmm Core i7 should work with Retail OSX, Use 132 bootloaders, try with munkys guide, good luck

oh SHIT!!! so I got a retail copy of snow leopard working on the dx58so with chameleon and efi boot!
I followed this tutorial yesterday and now have my system running smoothly with snow leopard. I followed this tutorial

you need 2 drives to accomplish this but I can say it works! just replace the appropriate kext and you will have sound, ethernet, and video card working. My system

Intel DX58SO Motherboard
EVGA Nvidia 9800 GT
OCZ 1333MHZ RAM

If you were having as much trouble as me getting this mobo working with snow leopard, then you are stoked now, this is a very easy to follow tutorial that is pretty much completely automated, I dont know much of anything about efi and dsdt and all that other mumbo jumbo and I was able to use this tutorial and get it all working. I hope this helps many more DX58SO users out there since it is a very superior mobo.
