I'm no computer expert, so I'm hoping everyone can bear with me as I try to explain my problem.

Anyway, after installation I immediately went to Safari to check if the internet was working, and obviously it didn't. I went to change my network settings and noticed that the OS wasn't recognizing my ethernet port (said it wasn't plugged in).

I'm guessing I'm having hardware problems, and sadly I have no idea what kind of network card I have. I'm guessing I would have to reinstall Vista to even figure this out?

Right now I'm trying to find the papers that came with my computer that will tell me the model number so I can possibly look up the hardware specs. If anyone could help or point me in the right direction of what my problem is that would be great.
