iatkos & ideneb install problem
i have a computer with motherboard asus m2n68 se-am
processor: amd athlon II x2 245 2.9 ghz
ram: 2gb 800 mhz kingston
video card: onboard nvidia geForce 7025 gt
hdd: 2x ATA 160 gb total
the problem is that when i want to install mac os x it says that "root device not found" and after that says "Still waiting for root device". could anyone tell me if it is hdd problem or any other kind of problem?
regards

Hi,
Yes it is problem, alright, how about both (kind of).
Is your computer a desktop or laptop?

its a desktop computer and its a good one not the best but not the worst either. windows 7 works great in this computer. i installed iatkos v7 in a computer amd athlon 3500+ single processor 3 gb ram but that computer has sata hdd so i thought that in this computer would be the hdd problem coz it is ata or ide im not sure which is the right word but all i wanted to know is that mac works with sata hdd or with ide hdd too??

Hi,
OSX can be installed to work with both SATA and IDE drives. Perhaps, it will be better if you can post your motherboards model, chipsets, cpu.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your CHIPSETs number. There are reasons why I ask for information on chipsets and whether it a desktop or laptop.
Look at your board model M2N68, I can tell that is a AM2 AMD socket (that is the first 2 letters), and the N means that you have a Nvidia nForce, just don't know what series.
Back to your problem, that "wait...." error means that your SATA/PATA controller is not compatible with OSX, and it can not find your hard drive.
NForce 73 series and later is fully AHCI, earlier version may not, hence the error in some case, but there are few workaround methods.
Look into your BIOS settings first to see if there is provision for changing SATA to AHCI instead of IDE, if yes then that is good news. OSX works with AHCI.
If not, there is one remedy. Use IDE DVD drive, set as master with the very end connector of the 80 pin cable. Your hard drive (IDE, right?) is set as slave with the middle connector. You can temporarily remove the unused hard drive during installation to make thing simple (you have 2 hard drives, correct?).
There is other solution as well but I need to do some research. This method works BEST if you have a SATA hard drive and a IDE DVD.
IMO, Ideneb 1.6 Lite Edition easier to work with these things.
Recommend boot options:
-x -v cpus=1 busratio=20 (or you can put the last two in one by one to see if it helps in case you're stuck).
Good luck,
Regards,

Hi,
So does it work out for you with that method?
During install, make sure you select your chipsets driver, nForce series. And yes, after you get into OSX with all correct driver, you can use your SATA DVD or whatever you wish.
Let me know how it goes.
