Default HP Pavilion DV7, anyone ?

    Hi,

I have an HP Pavilion DV7-1196EG Notebook with the following specs:

    4GB RAM
    2x320GB HDDs
    Geforce 9600M GT
Intel PM 45 ?! (I don't know, not even under Vista it's visible, not even with Everest, it says "Chipset unknown")

Is there anyone who has the same notebook or the same chipset and got osx to work on it ?

I have iAktos 2.0, I have iDENEB 1.3 or 4, dont know exactly, but none of these works!! "Still waiting for root device", okay, iAktos can install but at the end it says "error clean the disc and try again" or something like that!

I really want to go on OSX86 but I have no clue and it seems not to work ?! Please help me

    No,

    I only typed in "-v -x" ..

But is should it work to tripple boot ? Because I've installed Vista and Ubuntu 9.04, but I don't want to loose on of those operating systems (I already have a formatted partition for OSX - around 120GB which should be enough)..

How can I install it to tripple boot ? Do I need some extra programs for it ?

It would be great to have those three OS on my laptop, well, if that doesn't work, then I would uninstall Vista, I think..

    Kind regards =)

    Oh, I'm sorry... =(

But in every OSX forum I am registered, noone can or want to help me...

All the questions are "can I make my geforce / my ... mainboard ... run?"

But THOSE questions are already answered.. But my laptop is making problems with OSX and noone cares

It's nice that you answered to this thread...

Uhmm... I don't know but I think it causes problems.. Or do the newest OSX86 dvds recognize the hardware ?

What would you recommend ? Original install dvd or a pre-configured OSX 86 dvd like f.e. iAktos ?

Which version would you install ?

    Kind regards

    Hello,

so can I use a retail Snow Leopard DVD Image for the Macs usually ?

And how do I get it working ? Do you have a link to a tutorial ? Would be great, because I really want to use this, but don't have money for a MAC / IBook etc... Just a poor student..

    Kind regards =)

    I have the same laptop.
I can get OSX working using iDeneb 10.5.5, iATKOS 7(10.5.7) and iDeneb 10.5.8(Just did that today!)
Just make sure you get the ICHx sata driver and USB fix selected(Not so good in iATKOS!). NVDarwin 1.2.5 and the 9000 Nvidia drivers you can find on the forums get the video card going. AppleHDA will get you sound going.

    Default Q

    Hello,

do you have MSN, ICQ or something ? That would be great cause I need some support with this thing.

It's great to hear that I'm not the only one using this laptop.

Which version would you prefer ? Do you have an image containing those things ? Is there anything else to take care of ? Because I don't want to kill my Win partition for nothing but problems.

    Kind Regards =)
