    Default How's this for a <$1000 with 24" LCD?

Here is what I came up with (newegg prices)

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard (134.99)
    Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz LGA 775 D.Core Processor 800FSB (69.99) OC to 3+Ghz
    Noctua NH-U12P 120mm SSO CPU Cooler (64.99)
    Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s (94.99)
    G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (59.99)
    ASUS EAH4850 TOP/HTDI/512M Radeon HD 4850 512MB (114.99)
    SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner w/ LightScribe Black SATA SH-S223Q (26.99)
Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case (99.99)
    CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified (109.99)
ASUS VW246H Black 24" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor (229.99)

Any changes you would make but keep under the $1000.

Anyone have experience with ASUS monitors?

Great combo, I dont think the monitor will be a problem, check netkas site to know how to install your video, and google abit to get some guides for your mobo, I recommend you to install retail and good luck ;D

thanks. I have changed up some stuff. I went to frys and looked at the monitor first hand and was not impressed. So they had a LG that was $70 more. I am going to be using this for graphic design so I figured I could splurge a bit more for a better monitor. I have also been thinking about switching the processor with a E8400.

I have googled the hell out of everything and it seems it should be a easy hack. I installed OSX on my wifes Dell 1525 everything works but the HDMI out. I also installed on my Dell 6000 can not get the video to work (X300) or WL.

Now I just need to wait and see if the EDD will allow me to go back to school.
