By no means am I an expert but I would suggest iDeneb's farely new version out there (10.5.5 v1.3).

I had 10.5.4 prior with virtually no driver support but since switching to this version, I had NO work to do after the install and it fully recognizes my 9800 GX2!

Try install this using kext helper: 9800 GTX

You Can use osx86tool to get the right kext or try the link above, good luck

Correct me if I'm wrong but 'isikh' is referring to the 9800 GTX and the download you just provided is for the 9800 GX2.

On a side note, you seem to be in the know and I need help fixing up a botched kext install. I can't get back in to Leopard. Is there a thread or instructions somewhere on how to remove/reinstall kexts from that boot screen (Darwin is it called?)

    Thanks

    hmm there ways:

With single user or from windows, deleting the kext and boot in force mode to install the right one.

Would you be able to elaborate as to how I can do this? It would be much appreciated. I do have windows running as well (I am triple booting). How can I make changes via windows? Generally the HD partition that Leopard is on is not visible.

    Thanks again.

PS - I know what I did wrong with the kext install so I just want to reinstall the same ones, it should work after that.

To check take a look to your leopard partition, install in windows macdrive, latest version and thats it, delete useless kext and boot with -v -f.

Then repair your stuff on leopard and repair permissions ;P

Thanks for the reply. I have already just gone ahead and re-installed Leopard. So here I am now, up and running again with iDeneb's Leopard 10.5.5.

For future reference, what does the -f command do during startup? Also, is 'kexthelper' a good program to install kexts with? In other words, does it take care of removing existing kexts, setting permissions, and modyfing the boot.plist?

    Thanks

f is force mode, and kext helper, just install them and repair permissions, you can see what it does in the process by pressing advance, I dont think it remove them, maybe replace them
