Still no success with these modified 9800GX2 kexts I use kexthelper, reboot, and then I can never get back into Leopard and am forced to reinstall.

I ran into the same problem. I downloaded the kext files, installer them with osx86 tools, rebooted and was greeted in the boot screen by a message saying "You have to reboot. Hold the power button or press reset" over and over again every time i booted. I had to reinstall. Now i'm back to no Quartz extreme support

I was thinking it could be because i didn't repair permissions after i installed them. I want to be sure that's the reason before i potentially break the mac installation again

I'm using iPC 10.5.6 with PPC5.

I am just making the switch to iPC's 10.5.6 as we speak. After install, I am unable to boot and I suspect the issue is my video according to the last thing on the screen during a -v bootup. Which of the several NV's that iPC has included did you end up using for your 9800 GX2? I think I picked NVInject512 but can't make it boot after install.
