Help with pro hackintosh build?
Hi everyone!,
I've been searching for a good computer for a long time now and about 2 weeks ago I stumbled upon hackintoshes. Right now I have a iMac 2009 21.5" with the better prosessor but I need alot better performance (the iMac is actually very good but I use my computer for webdesign, alot of video editing, photography and as a small local server, gaming etc.) I've been thinking about buying a mac pro but they're really expencive!! I definately have money for a good computer but I thought that if I could find something as good (or even better) but cheaper and still upgradeable.
My price range for this would be somewhere from 1000$ to 2500$ (although don't think I need that much)
So first off the motherboard:
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD9. This would be an excellent motherboart but I can't seem to find it anywhere! So if someone knows where to find it please link it to me, and note that I live in Finland so favorably a place that can ship it here.
Then the prosessor:
Intel core i7 980 or 970 if it had the same socket as the mobo (i'm on my phone so don't remember)
Graphics card:
Suggestions please! Must support 2 displays
Ram:
The mobo supports 6 cards and (3-way ddr3) so i'll propably start with 12gb (3x4gb) so suggestions for that too please!
Optical drive:
Some blu-ray drive
Hard drives:
1x120gb or more SSD for boot drive and applications.
1x1tb hd for my home directories and the rest
Power supply:
Coolermaster silent pro gold 1000W
Case:
This is the good part: i'm actually building this computer inside my desk (i'm currently planning it with sketchup) so no case needed
Fans:
I'm going with air cooling cause wateecooling is a bit too expensive for me so i'll be putting here the fans sizes and amount needed so suggestions for silent and good fans please (heatsink too, there's no way i'm going with stock heatsink)
I want to install lion on this so anything special for installing? Probably will follow the tonymacx86 guide.
And sorry if I have bad english but as i said, i'm from finland

According to New Egg, that board is discontinued, so it must be old, or something is replacing it.

What do you think about the Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3?
