    Default AMD useful?

    Hi,

I did a lot of reading to get as much information as possible. But there a still a few questions.
I want to build my own Hackintosh, but want to use an AMD CPU.
In the OsX86 Wiki I`ve found a working system with this specs:

    MoBo: Asus M4A79XTD EVO
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE
    Video: Nvidia 9800GT

So, I just want to change the MoBo...can I choose any other Asus board that is compatible with the CPU?

    Which distro would you suggest?

I hope you can help me.
    Thanks

    Hey all.

Would someone be so kind as to suggest me a nice socket 775 mobo that I can install retail sl on? I've searched for the 775 boards listed in the first post on ebuyer (I'm a bit of a fan boy) and they don't appear to sell them anymore.
I'm a voiceover user, so it would be really nice / essential if audio worked in the install but apart from that, I don't mind doing a little bit of fiddling to get everything else up and running just so long as someones done it before me and its worked for them.
I'm not fussed about matx / atx, but like I say, good audio support is a must really and onboard video would be nice but if that's not possible I'm ok with purchasing a low end card.

If someones feeling really helpfull, the page for socket 775 boards on ebuyer is Cheap Laptop, Hard Drives, LCD Monitors, TVs, Televisions, Netbooks and more at Ebuyer.com - what would be the best one out of those to base my build on?

Lastly, it would seem that using boot-132 would be the way to go, but could someone point me in the right direction to where I can learn a bit more about it / what to do?

    Chears.

Default Any advice for laptops to buy?

Hi - I have a friend who can install me a Hackintosh, but I need to know what hardware to get. I've looked through this thread quite extensively, but can't find the info I want.

I'd like a fairly high-end laptop for video-editing with final cut pro, and 3D work with Blender: around 4 gig, 2gh duo core, OpenGL compatible, preferably with firewire.

Can anyone recommend me a model?

I'm looking for my list of hardware to purchase. Looking for an i7 unit like the one mentioned above as "New one". Is this still the latest and greatest? Would you upgrade any of these components to something else?
