Default Hardware Check and General Guidence required

I just ordered an Acer Aspire 5520:

    AMD Turion 64 X2
    250 GB SATA
    4 GB DDR2 SDRAM
    Blu-Ray Drive
    NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS

I understand these questions may seem quite lazy, I have read around the subject but I just want to completely confirm before I do something stupid.

I'd like to use Leopard as my primary OS for music, video etc, with a Vista partition for gaming only.
Is this a viable choice? Will I be able to utilize both CPUS? If So what Distribution should I use?

    Thanks in advance :)

Thanks very much for the prompt reply! Going to try this guide Installation Guides/Kalway AMD 10 5 2 - OSx86
It seems to be the best fit. Will it be difficult to get the card reader, usb, wireless, things like that working? I'm willing to put effort in, but only if ultimately it's fully functional.
