    Default Hardware Check

Hi there, new to this forum as this will be my first post. I am abit of the hobbyist in computers and video editing. I am mainly a pc person and do not own any macs as of yet . I do most of my video editing now in Premier Pro and other various programs. Someone told me that I need to get me a mac and get final cut on it, so that is why I am here. I don't care anything about spending anymore money than I have to. I own 6 computers now at home that I built myself (all amd). I also work for a college where I work on over 500 pc's and one G5 mac. The video editing is my hobby kind of sort of.

I would like to take one of my machines and load leaopard on it and play around with it as well as a copy of final cut which I have from work. The machine that I want to make a hackintosh is this:

    ECS Elitegroup AM2 AMD690GM-M2
    AMDŽ 690G & AMDŽ SB600
    North Bridge: AMDŽ 690G
    South Bridge: AMDŽ SB600
Realtek ALC883 support 8-ch HD Audio
    Realtek RTL8110SC Giga LAN Controller
    AMD x2 3800
    Lite-on dvdrw sata
2gig of ram now, if this works out, 8gb (for final cut)
    Sapphire ATI X1650 512m ddr2 pcie vga/tvo/dvi
    WD Caviar 80gb sataii
(multiple tb ext drives, some usb, some ext sata)
winnov videum pci (only used for video conference)
Pinnacle 700 pci (firewire and component capture)

Sorry for the overkill of information , but I wanted to make sure I listed everything that this system would have in it. I did some looking on the wiki list but the board I have was not listed, but items such as the chipset, sound and lan was on other system boards.

Thanks again for the information and the nice site.

Looks nice, try with iPC or Leo4all, you will need a patched kernel like voodoo, check the official site for each distro to know the basic, prepare yourself and try, report back your progress ;D

Thanks for the reply. I will give the Voodoo kernel a try. I also have a copy of the Iatkos v7 10.5.7 dist. I am going to try.
