Hackintosh NEWBIE. Some thoughts on my hardware list would be much appreciated. :)
Hey all,
I'm extremely new to the hackintosh scene. So new that I have never used one, but am currently seeking out parts to build one. I'm not 100% knowledgeable when it comes to specific hardware. I've been using Macs for roughly 8 years now and have never had to seek out individual hardware so bare with me.
I was hoping to provide a list of the parts I have been recommended to get and see what your thoughts are, if you can suggest anything better, more stable, powerful etc... I'm not completely opposed to spending a few extra bucks to make this a powerhouse machine.
I'm mainly going to be using this computer for pro audio. Recording, mixing, mastering, etc... I am a Pro Tools user at most. I'm also not opposed to having Windows 7 on a separate boot drive and using that for some slight gaming, but that's not 100%.
I'm very excited to jump into this and excited to be a part of this forum and community. If this topic is in the wrong place, feel free to move it to an appropriate forum where I can receive the best answers.
Here is the list of parts I am currently thinking of getting:
CPU:
Intel Core i7-2600K BX80623I72600K Unlocked Processor - Quad Core, 8MB L3 Cache, 3.40 GHz, Socket H2 (LGA1155)
Buy the Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40 GHz Quad-Core Unlocked at TigerDirect.ca
MOTHERBOARD:
I was hoping someone could suggest a compatible motherboard that works nice with the unlocked CPU (and RAM?) I am thinking of getting. Preferably something that is available from one of the sites below. I was told that I need to use a P67 motherboard if I were to go with the unlocked CPU.

VIDEO CARD:

POWER SUPPLY:

RAM:
I'm unsure about what RAM I should get. I'm looking for 2 x 8GB so I can have 16GB of ram. I was told that if I went with the unlocked CPU that I should get 1866MHZ RAM.
Can anyone suggest compatible RAM from these 2 retailers?

Any help, suggestions, thoughts, direction etc... would be much appreciated. Once I have my hackintosh built, I plan on becoming an active member (most likely with a lot of newbie questions at first) of this community for a long time. I have been and plan on doing a lot more reading about this new world.
Once I have a solid, compatible list of available parts, I plan on having this built very soon after.
Thanks for your time and I look forward to seeing some replies.
