Hackin0sh SUPER computer?
I've been looking around and... it seems to me that it might be cheaper to build a (server) "super" computer with some pretty nice specs.... but not sure if it would allow Mac OS to run... any ideas guys?
Here is what I've put together so far in this dream computer:
Starting with the mother board....@ $770
Supports 4 quad-core processors & 128GB ram
(4) AMD Opteron 8347 Quad Core 1.9GHz ($261 ea)
32 sticks at $32/ea = $1024 for a total of 64GB of ram!
Not bad for a 16-core system!
Hi eric, looks like you have "some" money, this processor Intel Core i7 will be out in few days, 8x2 = 16 cores XD
You can get the extreme one, then you will get better compatibily with OSX, and well the memory its not a problem ;D
Good luck ;P
P.S. AMD its good too but, lots of patches :/
HP Pavilion Elite m9250f
Snow Leopard 10.6.6, Asus IPIBL-LB MOD BIOS, Intel Quad Core Q6600, 4GB RAM (800mhz), 2x500GB, nVidia 8600GT (Works), ALC888S (Works), Wireless RT73 (Works), LAN (Works) - How to Install
