Default Hackbook Pro - Can I make a Macbook Pro Hackintosh?

I'm annoyed at the current Macbook Pros because their firewire ports only put out 7watts of power and have over-draw current protection, and I have a Firewire Bus powered sound card needing 10 watts.

So I'm keen to make my own.

What's the best laptop hardware configurations for running Snow Leopard? I need a really fast CPU, a Texas Instruments firewire card, and up to 8 gig of RAM, and a really powerful video card would be a bonus, but perhaps asking too much.

I want to know if it's possible to get compatible hardware that can work as a laptop running Snow Leopard. Would that be asking too much?

I tried some forum searches but got very lost in the unbelievable amount of posts. Can anyone direct me to other posts or threads or websites that address the use of OSX on a laptop?

Cheers guys, you are all legends!

Check in the HCL compare the most compatible Laptops, what work and what doesnt, compare prices and try, I think one of the most compatible is a Dell XPS but a macbook pro cost almost the same :/

    Check anyway and report back

Hmm, it looks hard to find a high performance laptop that works... They all seem slightly lower spec than what I was hoping.

Seeing as Snow Leopard isn't out yet, whats the chance that that software is less compatible with known Hardware to the previous version?
