    Default Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 Rev 01

    Specs:
Northbridge: NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP
    Audio: Realtek ALC883
    Lan: Marvell 88E1116
    IO: IT8716

Onboard Audio: No surround sound, fine otherwise.
Onboard SATA: Detected everything fine, had to modify a kext to read more than 127gb of a 250gb drive.
Onboard LAN: Detects, gets mac address, will not get an ip, manually setting through gui or even ifconfig. Tried editting appleyukon.kext to add hardware ids, still no go.
Onboard USB: Works out of the box.
Onboard FireWire: I haven't tested a device, the only errors during startup regarded having to set full secure mode?

Rebooting (via the apple menu) doesn't work, i have to manually reset myself, will test power down.

    Have I forgotten anything?!

How about wich distro you installed?

I got that motherboard, but never got to make the lan work.
Also, the sound, I only have 2.1 speakers, so i've got no idea if the surround works.

And the last thing.... I haven't been able to use nor PS2 keyboard nor my 1950pro ati video card.

    I used the JAS PPf1 + PPF2 install.

I have this same Motherboard. Same Issues. 10.4.8 AMD/Intel
Downloading 10.4.10 now and will repost on my findings then.

    Problems i've had:
    Lan was not responding
Shutdown did not shut the computer down.

Didn't go much further than that really, but it does work.

Caveats, I did load it to an 80gig partition on my external USB hard drive and was able to boot from it. It installed and boots up fairly quick, about the same as Powerbook g4.. lol

I don't dislike Macs, I just don't like the sub-standard hardware. OSX is very nice! ATA 100 HDD's are not.
