[Firewire] Disable specific port on macbook pro
I have a macbook pro leopard with a FW800 and FW400. It seems that the FW400 is damaged, sometimes it works fine, and sometimes it hangs the computer initialization with "issuing bad self IDs" messages and after initialization the FW ports don't work.
If I disable the FW kext from system the computer works great (but without FW capabilities).
Is there any way (via UNIX or something else) to disable the FW 400 chipset only without killing the FW800 port (leaving the normal FW kext on the system or changing the FW kext)?
Thanks a lot.
