Default FireWire compatible Mother Boards? any warnings?

Preparing to build a Hackint0sh Pro for high-end audio processing and video editing. It's got to be a kickass system that'll talk to my external soundcard without hiccups. The sound card is a Firewire card, and can be bus powered.

So, what exactly is the firewire story? Do i need a motherboard that has a firewire port on it, or should I just get a FireWire PCI express card?

I'm thinking of heading down the line of the Efi-X, just because of the legal side of it (supposedly you still gotta buy OSX and so it's not piracy?). Is there anything I might need to know ahead of time before I head that way?

Well you can actually install OSX Retail in your system if your mobo is compatible, check the HCL to know the most compatible mobos out there with Firewire onboard, you can always check the my post for Combos.

Check munkys guide to know how to install Retail and prepare yourself for Snow

    good luck and report back
