Is it doable?
Hey I hope this is the right forum to ask. I was wondering if my system is capable of running OS X. Here's a picture of the Direct X diagnostics I think it should have all the necessary info? MOBO is a Gigabyte GA-M51GM-S2G. I can figure it out if we need any more specifics. Thanks!

Speaking as someone who struggled for around a month and a half trying to get an MSI/AMD phenom system up and stable, maybe. I switched to Gigabyte + Intel and have a rock solid Hackintosh.
Download and burn the iDeneb installer. Before you try installing
(1) Write down all the hardware you have - esp the chipset, ethernet, video, and sound information.
(2) If your internal DVD drive is an IDE device, make sure you have access to an external USB optical drive. Or pick up a IDE->SATA converter from Tigerdirect.com and remove it from your IDE bus.
(3) If you have more than 2 gigabytes of RAM in your machine, remove the excess.
Then try.
In general, the most stable hackintoshes are those built with Intel hardware and SATA storage/optical drives.

Stupid question; I'm not a Mac user (yet): Is there a 64 bit version or should I use iDeneb OSx86

Leopard use a hybrid kernel, 64bit core is loaded only when it can be done. it makes possible to load kernel threads in 32/64 bit simultaneusly (that means it can load 32bit drivers also).

Is there a certain distro I should use for this? I tried iDeneb1.3.10.5.5 and it loaded from the CD and installed without any trouble but when it gets to where it would load the OS it restarts the computer...
Thanks for the 32/64 bit info. That's cool it can use 32 bit drivers... I wonder why MS hasn't tried that it would simplify things for the average MS user.

For your system you need a patched kernel like voodoo or speedstep, so make sure to select one of those in your installation, how did yo customize btw?

Before install, press the customize button

Select what your system needs and thats it
research a bit, maybe in the HCL for similar specs to know what to select, check everything single chipset in your system, you have to know your hardware, and like I said you will need a patched kernel.
Good luck
